Dear CH-UH Families,
The CH-UH City School District has partnered with Say Yes to Education’s Consulting Services to bring the Postsecondary Planning System (PPS) to our schools. While our district is not a Say Yes City like Cleveland, our students will benefit from this tool that will allow us to identify their needs across academic, mental health, physical health, and social-emotional domains and link them to programs and services that will help meet these needs. In our time of COVID-19 and remote learning, these support systems are more vital than ever.
Say Yes to Education Consulting Services and the District understand that it is important to provide the support that a child needs to be successful at and graduate from high school to be ready for postsecondary opportunities. The CH-UH leadership team has been working over the last year to prepare the PPS for our unique needs.
In order to maximize the capacity of the PPS, each K-12 student’s existing school performance data will be rounded out with information gathered through voluntary surveys completed by parents/guardians, staff members, and the students themselves. Surveys are now available for parents/guardians to complete. We ask that you complete the parent/guardian survey for each of your children enrolled in CH-UH Schools in grades K-12 this year. Students in grades 5-12 will be asked to take their surveys in the coming weeks.
You may find that some of the questions are highly personal in nature. This information is simply used to determine what specific supports your child may need at this time. Your direct responses cannot be viewed by anyone. They are combined with data from Infinite Campus to help to provide additional resources and support to students.
All K-12 CH-UH students are automatically eligible to participate in the PPS system. However, you may choose to opt out of the program. Please review the opt-out document . For more information about the PPS and the surveys, please review . Contact Nancy Peppler, Supervisor of Community & School Partnerships, at [email protected] with further questions.
I am excited to launch this innovative program for our students. The PPS will help us synergize our valued community partnerships in a way that provides our students with the support they need to succeed throughout their educational careers.
