Reaching Heights Presents Family Workshop Series

Exceptional Children's Advocacy Group Family Workshop Series


Dec. 23, 2016 -- Reaching Heights and the Exceptional Children's Advocacy Group will present a workshop series for families to help their children with special needs become strong self-advocates.

Xổ số Thị trưởng SakaeWorkshop One: Preparing Children to be Safe in Their Community will take place on Tuesday, January 31, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Coventry Building.

Parents can learn alongside their children in this interactive session. Hear from community agents including police officers, a social worker, representatives from the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities and more.

The group will explore questions such as:

  • Who can I turn to in my community if I feel unsafe?
  • What is safe internet behavior?
  • What should my family do if my child's behavior becomes unsafe?
  • What do first responders look and sound like when they are responding to a crisis?
  • How can I help build my child's confidence in public settings?

A light dinner will be provided.

Future workshops include:

  • February 22 - Preparing Children for Health, Sexuality and Wellness
  • March 21 - Preparing Children to Discuss their Learning Differences
  • April 25 - Preparing Children to Participate in Social Opportunities
